If you’re a fan of chicken or just a fan of celebrity chef (and white-blonde hair tipped icon) Guy Fieri, then you need to try Chicken Guy! This inventive fast-food restaurant first opened its doors in August of 2018 in Disney Springs and has been growing ever since. They now have 4 locations and another 3 on the way. I had the pleasure of eating here for the first time this November and have A LOT much to say… So without further ado, here is my official Disney Springs Chicken Guy! Review.
Where Is Chicken Guy! Located?
Chicken Guy! Is located near Planet Hollywood in downtown Disney Springs, but they also have locations in Miami, Landover, and Santa Clara. (For an up-to-date location list, visit their website).
As you walk down Disney Spring, you can’t miss Chicken Guy’s colorful entrance, complete with signage and lots and lots of red umbrellas. Given the current pandemic situation, there are tons of tables arranged outside providing patrons with plenty of distance to relax and enjoy the food.
What Does Chicken Guy! Specialize In?
This should come as no surprise but Chicken Guy! specializes in CHICKEN. There are a few different variations of said-chicken on the menu, and after extensively trying many of these menu offerings, I have some strong suggestions and opinions.
Chicken Guys’ bread and butter really are their chicken tenders, which come in two sizes: 3 or 5 tenders. They also sell chicken sandwiches and salad bowls (which I’ll get into a little later). And their specialty “Flavortown” shakes really do bring the flavor. But what truly sets Chicken Guy! apart from all other fast-food options, are their 22 signature sauces. Each sauce was developed by Guy Fieri and provides flavor you can’t even imagine (until you try them)!
What Should I Order?
This is such an easy question for me to answer. If it’s your first time eating at Chicken Guy! there is only one way to truly do this experience: order the 5-piece chicken tenders & a side of fries… and then order ALL 22 SAUCES. I know, you may be thinking to yourself, has she lost her mind?! But trust me, you will not regret your decision. Not only is each sauce amazing, but you can also mix together combinations of the sauces to give yourself an even more unique flavor profile. You can dip both chicken and fries in the sauces (some sauces are even better with the fries), and anything you don’t finish, you can just take home with you to keep the party going!
Not only is this a super fun experience to share with your entire group, but it also helps you to know what you will want to order for your 2nd, 3rd, 4th….. 100th time visiting!
Favorite Sauces
Trust me, everyone will walk away loving something here. I actually had an incredibly difficult time choosing which were my favorites. I tend to love really spicy, really strong, and really unique flavors, so the sauces I gravitated towards most were:
- Special Sauce: Mayo + Ketchup + Mustard + Pickle Juice + Chicken Guy! Special Spices & Seasonings
- Donkey Sauce: Mayo + Roasted Garlic + Mustard + Worcestershire + Lemon
- Wasabi Honey: Wasabi + Honey + Lime
- Garlic Parmesan: Mayo + Roasted Garlic + Parmesan + Parsley + Black Pepper
- Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ: Kentucky Bourbon + Brown Sugar + Molasses + Apple Cider Vinegar
- Chipotle Ranch: Chipotle Peppers + Smoked Paprika + Buttermilk Ranch
- Nashville Hot Honey: Honey + Red Chilies + Cayenne + Garlic + Onion
- Peri Peri: Roasted Red Bell Peppers + Chilies + Garlic + Onion + Paprika + Oregano + Lemon
- Sweet Sriracha BBQ: Roasted Red Chili Puree + Tomato + Onion + Molasses + Brown Sugar
That’s not to say I didn’t LOVE some of the others, these will likely just be the ones I go back to for round 2.
Additional Menu Items & Recommended Pairings
Once you’ve tried the chicken and the sauces as (I believe) they are meant to be enjoyed, the world is really your oyster here! For the signature sandwiches, I would recommend getting “The Sauce Boss” and mixing Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ with the Nashville Hot Honey. Mmmmmm. I’m drooling just thinking about this.
If you’re looking for a lighter “healthier” option, then go with the Mexican Street Corn salad with the Cumin Lime Mojo and Avocado Crema sauces. Sign up for the “Sauce Squad”, which I’ll get to in a minute, and add a spicy option like Chipotle Ranch or Spicy Mayo to your combination as well.
But whatever you do, save room for the Apple Cinnamon Cereal shake! Even if you have to share it. Where else can you get a Cinnamon Toast Crunch + Apple Jacks vanilla shake?! I’m serious, this is the perfect way to top off your experience.
How Much Does All of This Cost?
This is all very reasonably priced and in line with other fast-food restaurant pricing. Main entrée items range from $5.99-8.99. Combos are $11.99-13.49. Shakes are $4.99. And sauces are $.50 each (after the first 2 free sauces you get with your order, depending on what you ordered).
Bonus Chicken Guy! “Sauce Squad” Information
If you try Chicken Guy! and walk away as obsessed as I am, then the first thing you’ll likely want to do, is to sign up for their completely free “Sauce Squad”. What is this, you may be asking? This is Chicken Guys! loyalty program and as a “thank you” for being a loyalty member, Chicken Guy! gives their Sauce Squad two free ADDITIONAL sauces with every visit. Need I say more?!
